LYNAS_GREG_SQAssociate Pastor of Student Ministries & Young Adults

Greg Lynas
{This email is obscured. Your must have javascript enabled to see it}

Greg Lynas has served in student ministry for almost 14 years, primarily within the EFCA.  He has a deep passion for teaching the Word in a way that makes the truth of scripture accessible to all, and draws people into deeper personal devotion in their own lives. He is very relationally driven in ministry and wants to see students shepherded at an individual heart level.  He cherishes these relational connections in the deep and challenging moments as well as the goofy relaxed times that are vital to forming genuine community. Greg has been married to Beth since 2001, and together they have 3 boys: Sam(2003), Owen(2007), and Charlie(2009).  They are excited about the opportunity to plug their family into our community and can’t wait to meet the body here at Hope. Pastor Greg begins ministry work at Hope January 1, 2017.

While Jim and Melissa are our newest staff members, joining in 2017, they are not new to Hope!
Melissa began attending Hope in 1982 when her family moved to Roscoe.  She loved music as a child and enjoyed being part of Hope’s music ministry throughout jr. high, high school and college.  She was a member of the choir, band and assisted with children’s choir, drama camps and teen choir.
Jim began attending Hope in 1993.  He grew up in the Rockton area and also developed an early interest in music.  He began playing drums in grade school and later learned guitar, both of which he enjoys today.
Jim and Melissa both graduated from Hononegah High School, in the same class!  God reconnected them after college and they were married in 1994, in the old sanctuary at Hope.  They have been blessed with two daughters, Abby and Lainy, who were both dedicated here at Hope – in the old sanctuary!
Jim and Melissa have been serving on the worship team in various capacities for over ten years and Melissa still sings in the choir.  They have a passion for music, a love for others and most importantly God, and are thrilled for the opportunity to help lead our congregation in worship.
